Managing Graphic Designers

Written on the 1 April 2015

It's essential that the designer you are working with can meet your deadlines. You need to know that you and your designer are working to the same schedule and that they can meet deadlines as they approach and not two days later.

Each designer will have their time frame in which they complete work. You should be aware that issues like project size, budget, and whether the designer is working alone or in a team, will define the turnaround time.  Some graphic designers can deliver in a day or two, if the project is small enough. In a busy design company, your project may get left in a queue for a week before they start.

Another thing to bear in mind is how quickly your designer responds to emails and returns phone calls.  Their responsiveness should give you an idea whether you can trust them to return your project on time.

Key Tip: Everybody has deadlines to work to.  Bear in mind that you may not be the designer's only client.  If you are on a tight schedule, don't expect your designer to drop everything to finish your project as they might have other deadlines to meet as well.

Choosing a designer doesn't have to be difficult. We have a strong, open relationship with our clients, so if you do have any questions, we are always happy to help.
